On the 21st and 22nd of January 2021, a new 5G Research and Innovation project MARSAL: MACHINE LEARNING-BASED, NETWORKING AND COMPUTING INFRASTRUCTURE RESOURCE MANAGEMENT OF 5G AND BEYOND INTELLIGENT NETWORKS held a successful online kick-off meeting with the participation of partners and the coordination of CENTRE TECNOLOGIC DE TELECOMUNICACIONS DE CATALUNYA (CTTC).
MARSAL is part of 5G PPP Phase 3b ICT-52 projects and will last for 3 years. It aims to provide an evolved architecture towards 6G, offering unprecedented degrees of flexibility and closed-loop autonomy at all tiers of the infrastructure, and significantly improved Spectral Efficiency via Cell-Free Networking.
During the meeting all the partners introduced their organisations and the discussion was mainly focused on the role of each partner in the project and the work that needs to be performed under each Work Package. Moreover, the main goal was to establish a common vision for the project and lay out the project management framework.
This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under Grant Agreement No 101017171.
